AMS Band Boosters General Meeting, January 4, 2016
Attendance: Helen Bishop, Sarah Giuliano, Julie Seith, Jennifer Arborgast, Christy Shellabarger, Christy Shine, Kirsten Bailey, Susie Fee, Susan Mavrides, Cathy Wurst

Happy New Year!

Mrs. Bishop's Report:
The holiday concerts went well! We have recordings of all except the 8th grade. Mrs. Bishop is looking to acquire a good new camera for future recordings.
The elementary school field trips were so much fun and engaging for the 5th grade audiences! Although the holiday season is a hectic time for these, December is the best time based on 7th grade music preparation and the time for 6th grade elective signups.
The planned upgrades for band room equipment have not yet been completed. We are waiting for the company to follow through with the signed order from November.

Treasurer's Report:
$120 was raised from Sweet Spoons donations for our post-concert ice cream trips in December. The store was very welcoming, helpful and pleased with our kids joining them for a celebration after the shows. Expenses included $53 for the Uhaul needed for the 7th grade elementary school performances, and $114 for All District payment.

Communications:
Shutterfly is still sending out calendar invites. We discussed solutions for this.

New Business:
Band Parent Education should take place in February, with middle school liasonsd coming from Apex High, Apex Friendship and other high schools to answer questions for parents about high school band.

All District auditions are January 9th at Cary High School.

Mrs. Bishop is planning very cool T-shirts for the 8th grade field trip. Perhaps tie-dye...
The 7th grade field trip is still scheduled for Skyzone, Friday, March 18, after school. Waivers must be signed beforehand.

Fundraising:
The cookie dough fundraiser forms are going out Tuesday, January 5th. There will be no online orders due to increased shipping costs. They are due back January 25th with a $25 Target gift card going to top sellers. Profits will help students with field trip expenses.
Next meeting is February 1, 2016 in the band room at 7:00pm.
